Daredevil: Born Again to explore The Punisher in season 2 and not season 1 - Here's what we know so far

According to the latest reports circulating online, Marvel executives have decided to explore The Punisher more extensively in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, rather than in the first season. This decision seems to be a strategic move to focus on a more limited number of storylines per season. According to The Cosmic Circus, Alex Perez recently hosted a question-and-answer session where he addressed numerous queries regarding upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. One of the questions was about The Punisher and whether we can expect a dedicated show for him after Daredevil: Born Again. Perez revealed that the character will be explored more deeply in the second season.

“[Punisher] will show up in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. But as I understand it, The Punisher’s role will be expanded in the second season, as the first season feels more like a setup for his story to continue in the next season, from what was described to me,” he said.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Confirmed

At this year's D23 Expo, Disney announced significant updates about its future lineup of films, shows, and Broadway productions, which have now gained widespread attention. The Marvel segment of the event focused on Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Daredevil: Born Again, and Ironheart, three shows set to release on Disney+ Hotstar. The Daredevil series, starring Charlie Cox, became a major highlight when the creators revealed that the second season is already in the works.

Kevin Feige, who presented Daredevil: Born Again, introduced the show and emphasized how it will continue the story from the Netflix series in a respectful manner. The Marvel President also unveiled an exclusive teaser at the event, confirming several key details. Before urging the audience to focus on the screen, he announced that Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is already on track and will soon enter production.
