Daaku Maharaaj pre-release business locked: Break even number set for a decent amount

Daaku Maharaaj is one of the most-awaited Telugu films this Sankranthi 2025. Directed by Bobby, the film stars Balakrishna, Urvashi Rautela, and Bobby Deol in lead roles. The trailer, released recently, captivated audiences with its intense action and strong emotional core. 

Scheduled for release on January 12, 2025, the film’s pre-release business has been finalized at a record high, marking the highest ever for a Balakrishna film. At OTTplay, we bring you a detailed breakdown of the film’s pre-release business by region.

Daaku Maharaaj needs to earn ₹85 crore globally to break even. In Telangana, the pre-release business was closed at ₹18 crore, which is slightly lower as Balakrishna traditionally has a stronger market in Andhra Pradesh than in Telangana.

Daaku Maharaaj pre-release business worldwide

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh theatrical rights were sold for ₹51 crore, the highest for any Balakrishna film to date. Overseas, the pre-release business stands at ₹8 crore. In the rest of India, the rights were sold for ₹1.5 crore, while the Karnataka market contributed ₹4 crore.

Bobby’s previous film, Waltair Veerayya with Chiranjeevi, was a box-office success, and he returns now with another action-packed drama. Thaman has composed the music, and advance bookings have already begun. The pre-release event will be held soon.

Balakrishna is high with back-to-back hits in his career

Balakrishna is currently on a winning streak, with his last three films performing exceptionally well at the box office. Expectations for Daaku Maharaaj are high, and all eyes are on its performance in the coming days.

A special highlight of the film is Bobby Deol, who makes his Telugu debut, portraying a powerful industrialist. The film is produced by Sithara Entertainments, led by Naga Vamsi, with Trivikram Srinivas co-producing under his banner.
