Naga Chaitanya's latest action drama, Custody was released in both Tamil and Telugu on the 12th of May. Venkat Prabhu has directed this film which also had Krithi Shetty and Arvind Swamy in key roles. Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja have composed the music for this film which has completed its first weekend at the box office.
The news now is that the film has made only 8.7 crores at the worldwide box office after the first three days. These are dismal collections considering the fact that the was released in both Tamil and Telugu. Now that the weekdays have started, the film is finding it tough to find occupancy at the box office.
Naga Chaitanya played a police constable for the first time in his career and also promoted the film on an aggressive note. But the poor word of mouth has resulted in very low occupancy at the box office. In Telugu states, the film is performing in a very dull manner. The multiplexes are seeing some collections but the single screens are performing poorly.
We had already reported that the film needs to make 22 crores to be in a safe zone. But this figure looks impossible with the way the film is performing at the ticketing windows. Krithi Shetty also played a key role and this is her second film with Naga Chaitanya after Bangarraju. The next three days will be crucial for the film. Watch this space for more updates on the film's collections.
