Custody is Naga Chaitanya's latest release which opened on the 12th of May 2023. The day one collection was decent as the film made four crores worldwide. But sadly, the occupancy has gone down in no time as the film made only 1.5 crores on day two worldwide. These are very tragic collections and show how badly the film has been panned.
Venkat Prabhu directed this film which is a cop drama. Naga Chaitanya plays a police constable and Arvind Swamy is seen in a negative role. The trailers were decent and so was the promotion. But the dull execution by Venkat Prabhu has spoiled things for Custody. In the Nizam area of Hyderabad, the film made only 50 lakhs which is shocking.
In the state of AP, the situation is the same as the occupancy rate on Saturday was quite low. As it is Sunday, the film will see come occupancy in the evening and night shows. But on the whole, the collections will be drastically affected due to bad word of mouth. Krithi Shetty plays the female lead and she too, scores one more flop in her career.
Custody was made in Tamil and Telugu by Srinivas Chitturi and he made decent money through non-theatrical rights. But the film needed to make 22 crores from its theatrical revenue and this number is very hard to get seeing the latest collections of the film.
