Sarath Kumar, who is on a roll with back-to-back films this year, is awaiting the release of Paramporul which is set to hit the screens on September 1. The veteran actor will be seen sharing screen space with Amitash Pradhan in the thriller flick.

The first look of the senior actor's Criminal has now been unveiled. Dakshina Moorthy has helmed the movie which has wrapped up its shooting. The team is currently busy with its post-production works. PR Meenakshi Sundaram and IB Karthikeyan have produced the project that is billed as a crime thriller set in Madurai.

The first look has Sarath sporting a khaki shirt and a lungi wielding a two-wheeler's exhaust pipe while Gautham is seen holding a gun in his left hand and a handcuff in his left hand. The movie is said to be revolving around a murder that rocks the city.

Prasanna S Kumar has handled cinematography for the movie which was edited by Manikanda Balaji. Sam CS has composed music for Criminal. An announcement on its promo videos and release plans is expected to happen soon.

A press release issued by makers has director Dakshina Moorthy expressing happiness on how the movie has come out. He thanked the producers and added that the film became bigger after Sarath and Gautham were brought on board to play lead roles in it.

If everything goes well, Criminal will be Sarath's seventh outing in Tamil this year after Varisu, Ponniyin Selvan 2, Rudhran, Custody, Por Thozhil and Paramporul. He has The Smile Man and Samaran among a few projects awaiting release. Gautham was seen in Pathu Thala and 1947 August 16 in 2023.
