When it opened in theatres on March 29, 2024, critics were quite complimentary. Making over ₹156 crore (US$20 million) worldwide, it became the third highest-grossing Hindi film and the seventh-highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, solidifying its commercial triumph.

Kareena Kapoor Khan on women-led films

Earlier, during an interview with India Today, Kareena spoke about starring in women-led films, including Veere Di Wedding and Crew. The actor stated that it gives her great joy and pride to have been in not one but two critically acclaimed films about friendship, love, and having a good time that focused on female characters. When the heroes take centre stage in a road trip or heist film, it's one thing; when girls do it and the world watches and praises them, it's a whole other ballgame.

The actor further said that her performances in every part she has had—from Dev to Omkara to Jab We Met to Heroine to Veere Di Wedding to Jaane Jaan to Crew—have been consistently strong. She chose them because she wanted them to have a strong message while still being amusing and enjoyable for the audience. These days, Kareena believes that what matters most is the meaningful content rather than the protagonist or heroine. All of the enthusiastic actors are living through an exciting moment. After 25 years in the profession, she is incredibly thankful to be here at this time.
