Director Rajesh Krishnan is gearing up for the release of her film, Crew. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu, the film is set for a theatrical release on March 29, 2024. Ahead of the film's release, filmmaker Rajesh Krishnan said that Crew is a humorous story that has been told well. He told Mid-Day that nothing convinces harder than good humour. Krishnan added that he doesn't have to sell the film as female-centric and even compared the leading ladies of Crew to three Bollywood stars.
In the interview, Rajesh Krishnan said that everyone wants to know the story of Crew, which he calls a gender-agnostic film. "To me, Kareena, Tabu, and Kriti are no different from Shah Rukh [Khan], Salman [Khan], and Aamir [Khan]. The story is about three underdogs," he said.
For those who are unaware, in this film, three flight attendants plan to make their own money after not being paid for a few months after their airline is on the verge of bankruptcy.
Recently, there have been instances where airline staff were mistreated by passengers. However, Rajesh Krishnan hopes that Crew will make viewers rethink their behaviour with airline staff. "They say namaste, wear a smile, and have to be nice to you. That doesn’t mean they should be snapped at and asked, ‘Where is my alcohol?'" he said.
The filmmaker said that he has been surrounded by sassy women who have raised him well. Having said that, Krishan feels basic human dignity shouldn't be taken for granted.
After Crew releases in cinemas, the film will be headed for a digital premiere on Netflix. It will drop on the streaming platform after 45 to 60 days of the theatrical release. The premiere date will be announced once the theatrical run of Crew is about to end.
