Countdown to Yash’s Toxic begins – ‘1 Year to intoxicate the world’, say netizens

It’s been a few years since Rocking Star Yash last faced a camera, for a film that is. He has announced his next, Toxic, and is apparently gearing up to take the Geethu Mohandas directorial on floors this month. The production house, KVN Productions, has not made any official announcement about the start of the project, so, all that is certain at this point is that Toxic is only a year away from hitting theatres.

Today, on April 10, 2024, netizens kickstarted the hashtag ‘1 Year To Intoxicate The World’, to begin the countdown to the release of Toxic. When the film was officially announced, along with the title, they’d also said that it would be in theatres on April 10, 2025. It’s been four months since this announcement and sources suggest that the team is yet to begin shooting.

With only a year to go, unless, of course, the film gets pushed ahead, it seems like very little time to get the show on the road. But then, Yash has repeatedly said that his next may not be big in scale, but good in terms of content, so, the team may not need massive shooting schedules after all. Also, given that they have spent considerable time in pre-production, that should also come in handy in minimising time spent on set.

Yash19 is Toxic; sets long-holiday date with audiences 

Much like the Title announcement, fans have been eagerly waiting for word on the muhurtha of the film and details about the cast and crew. So far, they have only officially confirmed Geethu as the captain of the ship, with Shruthi Haasan and Kareena Kapoor Khan rumoured to be part of the ensemble cast. It’d been said that there would be three pivotal female characters in the film. While Shruthi’s casting was speculated after she sang a few lines for the Title theme, Kareena hinted at doing a ‘big’ film in the south during her recent promotions for Crew.

What has also been rumoured is that Toxic is period tale set against the drug mafia in Goa, although Geethu has been quoted as saying that she was toying with a gangster subject that she wanted to tell with a female perspective. Well, whatever she does eventually present onscreen, what matters now is that Toxic takes flight soon!
