Films like Jo and Jo, Sunny, and Aarkkariyam are some of the films that have been made about the COVID-19 pandemic. Now comes another one. The trailer for Corona Dhavan has been released, and the film promises to be a fun entertainer set against the backdrop of the pandemic.

In the trailer, one gets to see a group of people yearning for alcohol amid the pandemic-imposed shutdowns. The film is set in the village of Aanathadam, where the lives of individuals who are dependent on alcohol take a dramatic turn after the COVID-19 outbreak.

The film was initially titled Corona Jawan, since Jawan is the name of a local beverage brand in Kerala.

Lukman Avaran and Sreenath Bhasi play the lead characters in the film. Shruthi Jayan of Angamaly Diaries fame shares some romantic moments with Lukman in the film, which also stars Johny Antony, Dharmajan Bolgatty, and Sivaji Guruvayoor in significant roles.

Helmed by debutant CC, Corona Dhavan is produced by James and Jerome Productions. Sujoy Mohanraj, who has directed the film Super Hero with children in the main roles, has penned the script for Corona Dhavan. The technical team consists of cinematographer Janeesh Jayanandhan, editor Ajeesh Anand, and music composer Rijo Joseph.

Lukman’s recent films like Sulaikha Manzil, Saudi Vellaka, and Operation Java have all fared well. The actor also had a lead role in the recent film, Jackson Bazaar Youth.

Lukman was also a part of Tovino’s film Thallumala, which grossed over Rs 50 crore worldwide. The actor has been in the industry for a decade, giving notable performances. His performance in Mammootty’s Unda as a police constable from a Dalit background garnered much attention and was the turning point in his career.

Meanwhile, Sreenath Bhasi was last seen in the film Chattambi, which is about the outlaws who live in rural Idukki. The actor is witnessing a rough patch after being involved in some controversies and being banned by the producers' association.
