The update is here! The update on Coolie, the much-anticipated film starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, is out. The film's shooting has begun on Friday, the makers announced on social media. The film is helmed by director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
We had earlier announced that actor Rajinikanth and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj will be joining forces for a film titled Coolie. The makers had released a title teaser of the film, setting great expectations from the film. Now, on Friday, the team announced that the film has gone on floors.
A new poster of Rajinikanth sitting on a throne like chair was released along with the announcement. Though much about the film is not known, recently we were revealed that cinematographer Girish Gangadharan who also shot Lokesh's Vikram, will be cranking the camera for the Rajinikanth starrer as well.
Backed by Sun Pictures banner, Coolie has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The makers are yet to announce the cast and other crew details of the film. However, it is speculated that actors Sathyaraj and Shobana have been roped in to play pivotal roles in Coolie.
A release date for Coolie is yet to be announced. It is expected that the film will hit theatres in 2025. It is also highly unlikely Coolie will be part of the LCU, which includes Vikram, Kaithi and Leo. If the reports are to be believed, the Rajinikanth is set to play a unique character with negative shades in Coolie. It is also the first time Lokesh will be working with Rajinikanth.
