Coolie, the Rajinikanth-starrer actioner is gearing up for release, with the much-anticipated announcement dropped on Friday. The makers of Coolie announced the release date. The film is all set to hit big screens on August 14, right in time for Independence Day.

Undoubtedly, Coolie is one of the much-anticipated Tamil films. It features Rajinikanth in the lead role. As scores of fans wait for the update, the announcement of Lokesh Kanagaraj directing Rajinikanth has kept the expectations from the film sky high.
On Friday, Coolie team announced that the film will release on August 14. As per buzz, it looks like the makers want to recreate the magic of Jailer, which also released around the same time in 2023. Jailer was produced by Sun Pictures and had Rajinikanth play the leading role. It went on to become a blockbuster success.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie features an ensemble star cast, with actors from various industries coming together. This includes actors Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and others. Pooja Hegde will be making a special dance number appearance, while there is also a strong buzz that Hindi actor Aamir Khan is also a part of the project. The makers are yet to officially confirm his presence.
Coolie has music by Anirudh Ravichander, who has earlier scored for Vettaiyan and Jailer. The film is touted to be an action drama, and marks the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and Lokesh. However, the film does not fall under the LCU brand of films.
