Coolie - Rajinikanth, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film to start rolling on THIS date

Rajinikanth, the veteran superstar of the Tamil film industry has an exciting line-up of projects, in the pipeline. The legendary actor is all set to team up with hitmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, for his 171st outing in Tamil cinema. The project, which has been titled Coolie, garnered the attention of film fanatics with its highly promising title teaser, which was released in April 2024. As per the recent updates, Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj are now all set to kickstart the shooting of Coolie.

Rajinikanth’s Coolie to start rolling on June 10, 2024?

If the recent updates are to be believed, the highly anticipated project, which is also known as Thalaivar 171, is set to go on floors on June 10, 2024, Monday. The first schedule is expected to start rolling in Andhra Pradesh. Ahead of the shooting, the team might have a formal pooja ceremony and launch event for the Lokesh Kanagaraj in Chennai, in the presence of cast and crew, and a few invited guests. Rajinikanth, the leading man is expected to start shooting for the film, once he wraps up his Himalayas trip. For the unversed, the superstar is currently on a break from films and is visiting the Himalayas for his annual spiritual retreat.

Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj’s roles in Coolie

If the reports are to be believed, the legendary superstar is set to play a unique character, with negative shades in Coolie. In one of his earlier interviews, director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that he is a big fan of Rajinikanth’s villain roles, and wanted to create a character that comes in the same line, in Thalaivar 171. From the Coolie title teaser, it is also safe to assume that the movie is a gangster thriller, and the Jailer actor plays a powerful, mysterious man.

Sathyaraj, the senior Tamil actor is set to reunite with the superstar after a long gap of 38 years, for Coolie. If the recent updates are to be believed, the veteran actor is set to appear as the best friend of Rajinikanth’s character, in the film. The sources close to Thalaivar 171 also suggest that Sathyaraj’s character in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is as important as the leading man. More updates are expected to be released very soon.
