Coolie, the upcoming action film marks the first onscreen collaboration of Rajinikanth and hitmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. The superstar is set to play a grey-shaded character in the movie, produced by Sun Pictures. The actor-director duo kickstarted the filming of their ambitious project last month. If the recent updates are to be believed, the ongoing schedule shooting of Coolie will be wrapped up soon. Later, Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj are expected to kickstart the next schedule in Vizag.

Rajinikanth, Lokesh Kanagaraj to wrap up Coolie first schedule

For the uninitiated, Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj are currently busy with the second schedule of the mass action film, in Hyderbad. The grapevine suggests that the actor-director duo is all set to wrap up the ongoing schedule on Sunday, August 11, 2024. After wrapping up the Hyderabad schedule, the team is reportedly set to go on a short break, before resume the next schedule.

Coolie’s next schedule in Vizag?

If the recent updates are to be believed, the upcoming schedule of Coolie will start rolling in Vizag, within a few days. The recent updates suggest that the makers are planning to shoot some of the most important portions of the Rajinikanth starrer, in the city. Later, director Lokesh Kanagaraj and his team are all set to resume the next schedule in Hyderabad. The final schedule, on the other hand, is expected to go on floors in Chennai.

All about Coolie

Rajinikanth is set to appear in a never-seen-before role in the upcoming Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial. Even though Nagarjuna Akkineni was approached to play the lead antagonist in Coolie, the Telugu superstar turned down the role due to busy schedule. Sathyaraj, Shobana, and Shruti Haasan are set to play the supporting roles in the film, which is also expected to mark the Tamil debut of Manjummel Boys actor, Soubin Shahir.

Anirudh Ravichander is set to compose the songs and original score. Girish Gangadharan is the director of photography. Philomin Raj handles the editing. Coolie, which is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the prestigious banner Sun Pictures, is expected to hit the theatres by the summer of 2025.
