Tamil horror comedy Conjuring Kannappan is now available on a digital platform. The film, directed by debutant Selvin Raj Xavier, is streaming on Netflix in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.

With Regina Cassandra and Sathish in the lead roles, Conjuring Kannappan takes a fresh look at nightmares. The film appears to centre on the experiences of those who carelessly tamper with an enigmatic dreamcatcher, based on the trailer. Those who remove feathers from this object have nightmares that have repercussions in the real world.

Feeling stuck in a terrifying dream, Sathish's character, Kannappan aka KP, is the first to make the mistake of tampering with the dreamcatcher. He always finds himself in a haunted mansion with plenty of terrifying ghosts on the prowl when he goes to sleep. But when the injuries from the dream become real, the fear grows stronger. Therefore, if he dies in the dream, he will also die in the real world.

When Sathish's family plucks feathers from the dreamcatcher without realising its sinister significance, the plot develops. Now, the protagonist has to worry about protecting his family in addition to keeping the murderous ghosts at bay.

In this genre, Conjuring Kannappan feels like a breath of fresh air thanks to its intriguing plot. Because of the recurrent themes and excessive tropes used to make scary visuals more approachable for a broader audience, the horror-comedy has become somewhat dull.

The cast, which includes Nasser, Saranya Ponvannan, VTV Ganesh, Anand Raj, Redin Kingsley, Elli AvrRam, Jason Shah, Benedict Garrett, Adithya Kathir, and Namo Narayana, makes the movie hilarious.

AGS Entertainment has produced Conjuring Kannappan, with Archana Kalpathi being the creative producer. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for this horror comedy, which hit the big screen on December 8. S Yuva has helmed the camera work for the film, while Pradeep E Ragav is the editor. On November 4, director Lokesh Kanagaraj released the trailer on his social media page.
