The news of Kiccha Sudeep entering the political arena came as a huge surprise to many, particularly his many million ardent fans. Speculations have been rife since the news broke out and considering the fact that Sudeep has never openly spoken about his political aspirations in the past, one wondered what his participation in his chosen party of BJP would be like.
Reports emerging during the course have strongly suggested that Sudeep, after all, may not contest in the upcoming Karnataka elections but be a voice of support and campaign for select individuals in the lead-up. Sudeep, too, during his brief discussion with the media mentioned that he wished to remain an actor and not be affiliated with any particular party or contest in the upcoming elections.
"Certain individuals have stood by me during the tough times, especially when I was foraying into acting many years ago. I only want to reciprocate this way. But to clarify, I am not contesting in the elections from any particular party. I am an actor and I want to continue being that - in fact, I had released a note recently saying that I have signed three films and I want to focus on them" said Sudeep in the aforementioned media discussion.
However, to put everything in perspective, Sudeep, along with Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai, chose to clarify and declare his decision at a special media gathering which was held at 1:30 pm on April 5. Fans and the general public alike had fixed their eyes on this media conference to learn what exactly the 51-year-old actor had on his mind.
