Without a shadow of a doubt, Heeramandi on Netflix is among the most anticipated and talked-about series ever. Sanjay Leela Bhansali directs the web series, which is based on a period drama set during the partition. In addition to revealing the premiere date, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has confirmed an additional cast member for the series. Yes, along with Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Sehgal, Fardeen Khan is officially a part of the ensemble cast.
After nearly 14 years of hiatus, Fardeen will be back on screen. And rumours have it, the actor will be playing a negative role in the series, and interestingly, he has been paired opposite Aditi.
The OTT series has been a huge hit, and not only because Sanjay Leela Bhansali is making his digital debut; the partnership between the ace director and some very remarkable actresses has also contributed to its success.
For the uninitiated, in Heeramandi, a youthful heir caught in the crossfire decides to prioritise love above succession, shaking up the status order. The events take place in pre-independence India, where a growing libe ration movement is at odds with the dying art of tawaifs (courtesans). Bhansali is about to reveal to the world, in partnership with Netflix, the long-awaited series that has been a dream of his for the past 14 years.
While talking about Heeramandi's Netflix premiere, Bhansali recently said in a statement that thanks to everyone on the crew, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar will finally arrive on Netflix, and he couldn't be more grateful. They are eagerly anticipating the release on May 1, as well as the love and admiration that audiences around the world will show us after watching it.
Two songs from the series are out, and it has led to more excitement for the series. Now, in the coming few days, the makers will be giving more glimpses into the world of Heeramandi ahead of its release, which is just less than a month away.
