Civil War trailer brings war ruins in divided America
Writer Alex Garland is all set to bring his magical impact in his latest dystopic reality film after previously donning his craft in Annihilation, 28 Days Later, and Ex Machina. In the 2:23 minutes trailer, we witness Kirsten Dunst as a fearless photojournalist trying to survive the divided America on the brink of severe destruction.
Set in a dystopian setting, the trailer showcases an ongoing feud between the Western forces and the US government, spearheaded by the President of the States (Nick Offerman). It is hinted that a brutal conflict awaits the divided nation after the US army and the Whitehouse team issue a warning to the Western forces amidst 19 states seceded from the union.
“Citizens of America, the so-called Western forces of Texas and California have suffered a very great defeat at the hands of the United States military,” a confident Offerman says in the trailer.
The short intro was packed with action – air strikes, brutal bombings, and captivity by the enemy forces to reinstate control.
The stellar cast includes Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Sonoya Mizuno in key roles.
“A race to the White House in a near-future America balanced on the razor’s edge,” reads the official logline.
