Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden is in India along with his Citadel co-star Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Soon after landing in Mumbai, the stars of the upcoming Amazon Prime Video action-drama, backed by the popular Russo Brothers, sat down for a conversation with members of the press, at which they spoke about the series, working with each other, and their other bodies of work.
Apart from Citadel, which is an American show, the Scottish actor has worked on several international projects in his over two decades-long career. This includes the popular American series Game of Thrones, the Italian series Medici, and the British romantic drama Lady Chatterley's Lover, among several others.
In reference to this, Richard was asked at the press conference about his many international collaborations and how he feels about getting a chance to work with talent from across the globe.
Richard said, "I think that it’s a brilliant thing that can happen when you've got some great material. Sadly, as actors, we're not often part of the casting process, so you just trust in a director to make a beautiful cast. But I think when you have such great material, it's going to attract a really brilliant, diverse range of talent. And Citadel has done that. I’ve been very lucky."
At another point in the press conference, Richard was asked if he would accept an offer to star in an Indian film, to which he promptly replied, "Absolutely!"
When asked what kind of Indian film he would like to do, the Eternals star said that he would like to do a comedy film since that is something that he hasn’t done yet.
Created by the Russo Brothers, Citadel revolves around two elite agents, Mason Kane (Richard) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka), of the global spy agency Citadel.
It is slated to premiere on April 28 on Amazon Prime Video. Two episodes will air on April 28, followed by one new episode every Friday.
