Citadel world premiere: Priyanka Chopra Jonas reacts to Joe Russo’s ‘female Tom Cruise’ comment

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is gearing up for the release of her action-packed adventure series Citadel on Amazon Prime Video. The makers recently had a global premiere in London, which was attended by the lead cast - Priyanka and Richard Madden – along with Citadel India leads, Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Nick Jonas and Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, were also present at the premiere.

Reacting to the series’ executive producer Joe Russo calling her ‘female Tom Cruise’, Priyanka said that pulling off stunts was part of the job, and she wants all filmmakers to be as excited as Joe. “You want to go in and you want to deliver. It was a lot of work, it took a lot of discipline and training, but we did it,” she added.

Priyanka was joined by her husband Nick on the red carpet, who later shared a TikTok video of himself obsessing over her red dress. Obviously, fans can’t keep calm, as Nick is all praise for his wife and her red dress. “Oh mannnnn love this couple”, wrote one user, while another commented, “I had a feeling he’d post something like this”. “Love how Nick is so obsessed with his beautiful wife”, said one fan.

While talking to Access Hollywood about her role in Citadel, Priyanka said that she chose this role to inspire her daughter Malti Marie by her strength on screen. She also said that she wants to develop a relationship with her outside of her roles but wants Malti Marie to be proud of the choices she has made over the years.

“I would really like her to like me like I love hanging out with mom. Because I was like that till, I became a teenager. Then I did not want to hang out with my mom. But till then, I loved hanging out with my parents, and so far, she does too,” she elaborated.

Produced by Russo Brothers, Citadel is an action-packed spy series starring Priyanka, Richard and Stanley Tucci. The series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 28. Varun and Samantha are set to feature in Citadel India, which is currently under production.

Sharing details about the show, Priyanka earlier said, “The story is closely interwoven with the stunts. What’s so exciting about these huge action pieces is that they are infused with drama and storytelling. We get to see a lot about these characters, how they physically interact, not just great action sequences but there’s drama at the heart of each one of them. So, there’s a story sort of interwoven in all the stunts. And that was just very cool and new for me.”
