The much-loved television show CID is all set to make a comeback after six years on the small screen. The makers recently announced that CID has been renewed for a new season. CID 2 will soon air on Sony Entertainment Television. The show's original star cast: Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Shrivastava will be back for the new season. In an official statement, Shivaji Satam opened up about returning as ACP Pradyuman after six years.

After the first promo of CID season 2 was released, Shivaji Satam spoke about Daya and Abhijeet's changed dynamics. In the new season, Daya and Abhijeet, who once shared an unbreakable bond, are at loggerheads with each other.
"The very foundation of CID is shaken, and ACP Pradyuman's world will be turned upside down. It feels surreal to return as ACP Pradyuman after six years, a character that has received so much love and we promise a thrilling ride filled with suspense, and heart-stopping drama," the veteran actor said.
While sharing the first promo of CID 2, Sony TV captioned its Instagram post: "Kyu barso puraani dosti bhool kar, Abhijeet ne chalayi Daya par goli? (sic)." For the uninitiated, the new season will go on floors in November and its premiere will take place in December 2024.
CID 2 shoot update
Meanwhile, details about CID season 2's shoot have surfaced online. The buzz is that the shoot will begin on November 15. "The shoot begins around November 15, and the idea is to take the cult detective series on air in December - around the Christmas / New Year period. Over the years, audiences have given so much love to the TV show, and now is the time to give back the love to the audience," a source told Pinkvilla.
