Due to high public demand, CID is returning with its much-awaited second season. The iconic trio Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, and Dayanand Shetty will reprise their roles as ACP Pradyuman and Inspectors Abhijeet and Daya. While the release date is not revealed, the makers dropped a video featuring Daya who revealed how many doors he has broken in the first season.
Daya Shetty on breaking doors in CID
On November 20, Sony Entertainment Television shared a video featuring Dayanand Shetty. In the clip, he can be seen answering a most-asked question and that is how many doors he has broken in the first season of CID.
The aactor shared, "Normally koi bhi accha kaam karta hai toh hum log use gin ke nehi karte jaise aap paise gin ke nehi rakhte ho kyunki laxmi ginne se ghar jaati hai toh waise daarwaaze ke sath wohi hota hai. But ek fan ne study kiya hai aur usne hume bataya hai ki 1700 or 1800+ darwaaze main todh chuka hu as per the fan's survery."

(When we do good work, we do not calculate just like earning money. So this is the same case for breaking doors. One fan surveyed all the episodes of the first season and came to know that I have broken 1700 or 1800+ doors in CID season 1.)
Reacting to the video, one fan wrote, "Cid is greatest show in history of India" Another commented, "Old fans always so excited" A third fan wrote, "When it is coming date announce kariye na."
Shivaji Satam talks about CID 2
After the first promo of CID season 2 was released, Shivaji Satam spoke about Daya and Abhijeet's changed dynamics. In the new season, Daya and Abhijeet, who once shared an unbreakable bond, will be facing off against each other as per the new promo.
"The very foundation of CID is shaken, and ACP Pradyuman's world will be turned upside down. It feels surreal to return as ACP Pradyuman after six years, a character that has received so much love and we promise a thrilling ride filled with suspense, and heart-stopping drama," the veteran actor said.
CID 2 shoot update
A Pinkvilla report mentioned that CID season 2's shoot was supposed to begin on November 15.
"The shoot begins around November 15, and the idea is to take the cult detective series on air in December - around the Christmas / New Year period. Over the years, audiences have given so much love to the TV show, and now is the time to give back the love to the audience," a source told the portal.
Meanwhile, once CID 2 goes on air, it will stream on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium.
