Devara is Jr NTR's new film, which is being released in two parts. The promotions for part one have started, and recently, a new romantic song, Chuttamalle, was released. It showcased the sizzling chemistry between Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. They have teamed up for the first time on this action drama, which will be out on September 27, 2024.
But what has caught everyone's attention is that the music director, Anirudh, has copied Chuttamalle directly from a Sri Lankan singer, Chamath Sangeeth's track Manike Mage Hithe, which has already created a sensation. The song sounds the same, except for a few beats.
Despite the manner in which the song has been shot, the 'copy cat' tag has not left Anirudh. The young composer, who is known to compose hit numbers, is being trolled massively for this song. Some are even calling Anirudh a copy cat and are sharing a bit of the song and how it resembles Manike Mage Hithe.
The icing on the cake for these trolls is the acknowledgment of these trolls by the Sri Lankan singer herself. In a post, Chamath Snageeth plays both songs and thanks Anirudh for getting inspired to compose Chuttamalle from Manike Mage Hithe. Ever since this happened, the trolls have gone to the next level, and even Jr NTR is being blamed for allowing something like this to happen.
Devara is directed by Koratala Siva, who himself has been involved in copyright issues of plagiarism many times. So far, Devara has been making headlines for all the right reasons, but Chuttamalle has left the team in no man's land as the song is giving the film all the attention but in a very wrong way. We need to see what Anirudh has to say about all this in the days to come.
