A notable example is his role in American Hustle, a movie that starred him alongside Bradley Cooper and Amy Adams. Christian Bale's Transformation For American Hustle

Christian Bale has transformed his body in remarkable ways over the years. The actor lost 60 lbs for the 2004 release The Machinist and immediately bulked up to play Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. He then transformed again to portray a bony thin man in The Fighter. These transformation clips frequently go viral on the internet. For American Hustle, which was released in 2013, Bale gained 43 lbs to resemble a '70s con artist in a movie inspired by the Abscam scandal. Read on to learn more about his transformation.

In an interview with People, Christian Bale discussed his transformation for American Hustle. Talking about his diet to fatten up, he said, I ate lots of doughnuts, a whole lot of cheeseburgers, and whatever I could get my hands on. I literally ate anything that came my way. I was about 185 and went up to 228. I’m still working it off.

For American Hustle, Christian Bale ended up with a protruding belly, which many thought was a prosthetic but was not. He even cut off his hair to get the details of the character right. In the same interview, he spoke about his wife Sibi Blazic's reaction to his transformation. She’s seen me in many different, hideous guises, and she tolerates me no matter how I look, he said. I’m grateful to have a very patient and loving wife.

Bale also mentioned his daughter Emmeline and how she reacted to his various transformations. She found it funny, the English actor said with a smile. Having a big old gut and a bald head, she would slap it and tease me. She had lots of fun and found it amusing.
