Earlier today, many Tamil actors and filmmakers had expressed grief over the demise of Tollywood superstar Krishna. The veteran actor passed away at Hyderabad today after being admitted to a private hospital following a heart attack yesterday. Chiyaan Vikram is the latest from Kollywood to pay respects to the senior actor.
The two of them had shared screen presence in Susi Ganesan's Kanthaswamy which was released in 2009. The bilingual project (Mallanna in Telugu) was the only Tamil movie in which Krishna had acted in his career spanning more than 350 films.
Vikram took to his Twitter page to say that working with a gentle soul like him was an honour and that he is one of the many millions who is saddened beyond measure by his passing today. He also extended prayers and heartfelt condolences to "dear friend" Mahesh Babu, the younger son of Krishna.
Krishna essayed the role of Krishna Rao IPS, Joint Director of CBI, in the film while Vikram played a mysterious character which has multiple shades. There was news of Mahesh and Vikram sharing screen space in a movie to be directed by Trivikram earlier this year, leaving their fans excited. But a source close to the latter denied it and termed it as a baseless speculation.
Kalaippuli S Thanu, the producer of the movie, too, remembered the Tollywood legend with a post on Twitter. His tweet read, "We were privileged to work and interact with him during Kanthaswamy / Mallanna (Telugu) shooting. #TheLegendKrishna sir was a humble and great human being. It is a great loss for his family and Indian film Industry (sic)."
Fans of Vikram and Krishna flooded the comment section with a picture of the two from Kanthaswamy.
