Chhava: Rashmika Mandanna, Vicky Kaushal to star in Laxman Utekar’s new period drama

After the success of their first collaboration of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, actor Vicky Kaushal is all set to work with filmmaker Laxman Utekar once again in the upcoming historical period drama film, titled Chhava, along with Rashmika Mandanna.

This is the first time the audience will get to see Vicky and Rashmika together on screen. Vicky is likely to play the character of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the elder son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the great warrior and the founder of the Maratha Empire. Meanwhile, Rashmika will be playing the pivotal role of Yesubai Bhonsale, the wife of Sambhaji.

The film will be produced by Dinesh Vijan, under the banner of Maddock Films. The film is currently in the pre-production stage. The narrative not only aims to celebrate the bravery of Sambhaji, but also shed light on the beautiful love story of Yesubai and Sambhaji.

Rashmika made her debut in Bollywood with the film Goodbye, followed by Mission Majnu. She will soon be seen in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal.
