Chhaava is one of the most anticipated releases of 2025. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film stars Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. In the movie, he will share screen space with Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta, and Akshaye Khanna. In a recent interview, Divya spoke about playing the role of Soyarabai in the film. The actress also shared her experience working with Vicky in the Laxman Utekar directorial.
Speaking with Mid-Day, Divya Dutta said Chhaava is a very good-looking film. The actress added that the shots taken by Laxman Utekar gave her 'goosebumps'. Talking about her character Soyarabai, Divya mentioned, "When he narrated the role, I told him I haven’t done something like this before. It was starkly different in terms of the look and the character. The fact that you dress up a certain way and go to your palace, it takes you to another world."
The actress further spoke about her co-star Vicky Kaushal. She heaped praise on the Bollywood actor by saying, "Vicky is adorable. He would not go until he has given cues to his co-stars. I would ask him to go and he’d refuse. We would talk in Punjabi; such camaraderie is important. He is one of the finest actors we have."
Divya added that Vicky can pull off any role given to him. She praised the actor's modesty and humility as well.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava was scheduled to have a theatrical release on December 6. Its box office clash with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 was averted the makers of Chhaava postponed the film's release. The Vicky Kaushal-led movie will now hit the big screen on February 14, 2025.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. In this film, Rashmika will be seen as Yesubai Bhonsale. The star cast of the film also includes Ashutosh Rana, Neil Bhoopalam, and others.
