Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 6: As Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava continues to climb higher at the box office, the film is achieving new milestones with each passing day. One of the most anticipated movies of the year, the film was initially scheduled for release in December 2024 but was pushed back to February to avoid clashing with Pushpa 2: The Rule—a decision that now seems wise, as it allowed Chhaava to maximize its impact. Now, after six days in theaters, the movie has not only crossed the ₹200 crore milestone but has also surpassed Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi among post-pandemic releases.
You read that right. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Pictures, Chhaava is based on the life of the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who ruled from 1681 to 1689. The movie is set on a massive scale and also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, Divya Dutta as Sambhaji Maharaj's stepmother Soyarabai, and Akshaye Khanna as Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film hit Indian theaters on February 14, 2025.
According to Sacnilk, on its sixth day, Chhaava has managed to surpass its Day 1 collection of ₹31 crore, earning approximately ₹32 crore. This brings the film’s total collection to beyond ₹200 crore, making it one of the biggest post-pandemic box office successes. As it completes its first week, if it maintains a similar pace, Chhaava could set a new record.

With its strong performance, Chhaava has surpassed numerous films, most notably Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi, which earned ₹195.04 crore in its lifetime. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Sooryavanshi was one of the highest-grossing post-pandemic films, but Chhaava is set to leave it far behind by the time its theatrical run concludes.
