Chhaava box office collection day 13: For the past 13 days, we have been closely tracking the box office performance of Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, both domestically and globally. The anticipation for the film had been building for months, only intensifying when the makers released the teaser and trailer. The delay caused by its clash with Pushpa 2: The Rule, which pushed its release from December 2024 to February 2025, further heightened the excitement among fans and cinephiles, making them eager to experience the film on the big screen.

Now, as Chhaava completes 13 days at the box office, early reports suggest that it is on the verge of surpassing ₹400 crore and overtaking Padmaavat to become the highest-grossing period drama of all time.

Chhaava Box Office Update

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Pictures, Chhaava is based on the life of the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who ruled from 1681 to 1689. The film is set on a grand scale and stars Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, Divya Dutta as Sambhaji Maharaj's stepmother Soyarabai, and Akshaye Khanna as Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The movie was released in India on February 14, 2025.

The Vicky Kaushal starrer, which hit theatres nearly two weeks ago, continues to perform exceptionally well. According to Sacnilk, on day 13 of its theatrical run, the film earned ₹23 crore net in India, bringing its total domestic collection to a staggering ₹386.25 crore net. Despite being in its second week, Chhaava has consistently earned over ₹20 crore per day on weekdays. If it manages to pull off another ₹20 crore-plus day, it will cross ₹400 crore tomorrow, setting a new milestone.

Set to Beat Padmaavat Worldwide

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh, was a box office sensation. The film earned ₹546 crore worldwide in 2018 and is regarded as the highest-grossing period drama in India. However, reports suggest that Chhaava has already crossed the ₹500 crore mark globally and is on track to surpass Padmaavat, claiming the title of the highest-grossing period drama of all time in India.

Chhaava Declared Tax-Free in Chhattisgarh

Meanwhile, Chhaava has been declared tax-free in Chhattisgarh. On February 26, CM Vishnu Deo Sai made the announcement, stating: "Chhaava is not just a film; it is a tribute to our historical traditions, courage, and self-respect. Every citizen should watch it to understand the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.” The film has already been granted tax-free status in Madhya Pradesh and Goa. As Chhaava approaches the end of its second week, it will be interesting to see how much further it can go at the box office.
