Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava is the talk of the town, making waves at the domestic box office. Released on February 14, 2025, the film has drawn massive audiences, with strong advance bookings and high footfalls leading to a healthy collection. In just two days, the movie has amassed nearly ₹70 crore, reflecting immense demand. A prime example of this demand is in Pune, where occupancy rates have surpassed expectations, prompting cinema halls to introduce screenings as early as 6:00 AM and as late as midnight.
Based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and adapted from the novel of the same name, Chhaava was one of the most anticipated films of the year. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, the movie is directed by Laxman Utekar and backed by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Pictures.
According to Koimoi, the film has witnessed a 95% occupancy rate in Pune, leading cinema halls to extend their screening schedules. Many theaters in Pune have now introduced 6:00 AM shows, a significant milestone. Since Sunday, theaters in Mumbai and Pune have already begun midnight screenings to meet demand. According to HT, theaters in smaller centers have started shows at 6:00 AM and 1:00 AM, with midnight screenings extending to 12:45 AM, 1:00 AM, 1:15 AM, and even 1:30 AM. However, some of these extended schedules are yet to be fully implemented.
