Chethan Cheenu to play the lead in KT Kunjumon's Gentleman 2

The lead actor of KT Kunjumon's Gentleman 2 has finally been announced. Chethan Cheenu, who has worked in Telugu films like Raju Gari Gadha and Manthra 2 has been roped in as the lead actor. The production house made the announcement today on its social media handle, "Mega announcement: Here we proudly announce @chethancheenu will be the lead actor of Our Mega project  #Gentleman2 directed by #AGokulKrishna (sic)."

The makers have already made announcements about the technical crew. While Ajayan Vincent has been roped in for the cinematography, Thota Tharani is in charge of the art direction. MM Keeravani is already on board as the music director. Nayanthara Chakravarthy has already been announced as the leading lady. Nayanthara is a child artiste-turned-lead and made a name for herself in Malayalam cinema. Some of her popular appearances include films like Kathanayakudu, Kuselan, Silence and Kilukkam Kilukilukkam. Priya lal will play the other leading lady in the film.

Earlier there were a number of speculations about whether the sequel to the 1993 heist action film of the same name, would indeed happen or not. But the producer began making one announcement after another, thus confirming that the film would indeed happen. Gentleman marked Shankar's debut in the Tamil film industry and it had an ensemble star cast including Arjun and Madhubala in the lead, along with Goundamani, Subhasri, MN Nambiar, Manorama, Senthil,Vineeth, Charan Raja and Rajan P Dev. 

The plot revolves around a businessman Kicha who moonlights as a thief who carries out heists. He becomes Robinhood for the poor after a tragedy strikes him. Mani (Goundamani) plays his partner in crime. AR Rahman's soundtrack from the film was a huge hit. The songs included Chikku Bukku Rayiley,  Parkathey, En Veetu Thottathil and Ottakatha Kattiko. Lyrics were by Vaali and Vairamuthu. While the cinematography was by Jeeva, editing was by B Lenin and VT Vijayan.
