It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Rishab Shetty's latest release, Kantara has got the world talking. The film has received a lot of appreciation from the Kannada audience and buoyed by the success and the good word of mouth, the makers had announced that the film will release in Hindi and Telugu as well. Kantara is bankrolled by Hombale Films, which had earlier rolled out the pan-Indian smash hit K.G.F. franchise. While the Hindi version will hit screens on October 14, the Telugu version will release on October 15.
In the meantime, theatres in Chennai have been adding additional shows and screens for the film. Today, Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films announced that the film will release in Tamil and Malayalam as well and shared the posters of the film in both the languages.
Kantara stars Rishab Shetty, Kishore, Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, Prakash Thuminad, Naveen D Padli to name a few. The plot is set in Kundapur in the 19th century when a king offers a piece of land to the local tribals in exchange of a deity that would give him peace and happiness. Generations later, the king's successor asks for the land in return. While Rishab Shetty plays a Kambala champion in the film, Kishore plays an honest police officer. Music for the film is by B Ajaneesh Lokanath, cinematography by Arvind S Kashyap and editing by KM Prakash and Pratheek Shetty.
