Cheeni 2-actress Aparajita Adhya: I will definitely return on TV, but that is conditional

Aparajita Adhya and Madhumita Sarcar’s film, Chini-2 was released on August 11. Earlier, the trailer was praised by the audience and the film got a good number of halls. Directed by Mainak Bhaumik, the film also features Lily Chakraborty, Anirban Chakrabarti, Soumya Mukherjee, and others.

Aparajita is a known face on Bengali TV. Nowadays, she is rarely seen on any serial though, and she is concentrating more on films. However, she is the host of the TV show Ghare Ghare Zee Bangla. Her last serial was Lokkhi Kakima Superstar which ended last December. When will she return?

Aparajita told the news media, “Taking me in a serial is financially expensive for the makers. People have to think before taking me on a project since money is a big concern.” She added, “Having the same story in different serials is becoming a trend. If one type of story in a serial clicks, then every other serial follows that formula. I am not thinking of doing anything right now unless someone thinks differently. I will definitely work, but I have to like the character and you have to give me your words that the character will go in a set direction. You can not change its turn midway. The story will go on as you told me the first time. I love TV. I have become what I am because of TV. I will definitely return, but that is conditional.”

Aparajita became popular with the serial Ek Akasher Niche. She worked in serials like Gaaner Oparey, Kanakanjali, Maa, Punyi Pukur, and Jal Nupur. She has worked in a lot of films also. People like her work, especially the way she can easily fit herself into any character. Lokkhi Kakima Superstar also did well in the TRP rating.

Produced by SVF, Cheeni 2 is running in the halls. In the previous film Cheeni, Aparajita plays Madhumita’s mother. Here, they are the landlady and the tenant. The film’s USP is the friendship between them. Aparajita becomes Madhumita’s love guru in the film.
