Freedom, August 14 - Check out the intense first look of Sasikumar and Lijomol Jose-starrer

The first look of director-turned-actor Sasikumar's upcoming Tamil film titled Freedom, August 14, was released by the makers on social media on Thursday. The film is directed by filmmaker Sathya Siva, who earlier made the 2012 drama thriller film Kazhugu, and also stars Lijomol Jose in the lead role.

The poster features Sasikumar looking sideways with Lijomol staring straight ahead as we see hundreds of people in what may seem like a gathering. The makers also released another poster, featuring only Sasikumar. As he sports a beard and looks on intensely, one can see smoke billowing from a blast.

The first look poster features Lijomol and Sasikumar. As both the actors sport an intense look, we also see a lot of people, in what may seem as a gathering. The poster has tints of black, with elements of smoke as well. It is to be noted that it is the first time Lijomol will be working with Sasikumar. From the title of the film, it looks like Freedom will revolve around the independence struggle of India. August 14 marks the eve of India’s Independence Day.

Team behind Freedom, August 14

The film is written and directed by Sathyasiva. It is to be noted that the upcoming film marks the second time the director is working with Sasikumar after the 2022 Naan Mirugamaai Maara.

The technical crew consists of Ghibran composing the music, with NS Uthayakumar handling the cinematography. Srikanth NB is the editor of the film. A release date for Freedom August 14 is yet to be announced. The film will have a multilingual release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. A noted actor and director, Sasikumar was last seen in 2023's sleeper hit Ayothi. He also has Pagaivanuku Arulvai, Naa Naa, and Garudan, also starring Soori and Unni Mukundan at various stages of production. On the other hand, Lijomol was last seen in 2023 Malayalam film Her. The actor also has Annapoorni co-starring Losliya and Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhu Udamai in the pipeline.
