Congratulations India! Chandrayaan-3 has successfully landed on the moon today evening around 6:04 pm IST. Soon after this announcement, people across that country are filled with pride and tears in their eyes. This news means that the man-made satellite has safely touched down on the surface of Earth’s only natural satellite.
With this achievement, India has become the fourth country in the world to achieve this feat after the United States, Russia, and China, but India will be the only country in the world to land on the lunar South Pole.
Chandrayaan, India's lunar exploration program, has been a trailblazing endeavour launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). An official statement by the Government of India mentions that Chandrayaan represents India's dedication to unravelling the mysteries of the Moon and contributing to the global space community's understanding of lunar geology, atmosphere, and resources.
Historically speaking, while the Chandrayaan-2 mission was only partially successful since the lander lost contact after a hard landing, the ISRO successfully established two-way communication between the Chandrayaan-3 Lander Module and the still-orbiting Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter.
Two days ago, the ISRO shared new images of the Lunar far side area captured by the Chandrayaan-3.

Soon after this achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who watched the live telecast of this mission today from South Africa, commented on microblogging site X, “Historic day for India's space sector. Congratulations to ISRO for the remarkable success of the Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission."
ISRO on Twitter wrote, “Chandrayaan-3 Mission:'India, I reached my destination and you too!' Chandrayaan-3 Chandrayaan-3 has successfully soft-landed on the moon! Congratulations, India! #Chandrayaan_3 #Ch3"
Bollywood celebrities namely Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anupam Kher, Abhishek Bachchan, R Madhavan and many others hailed Indians for this historic mission.
