Director P Vasu's sequel to Rajinikanth and Jyotika's Chandramukhi finally hit screens today. The sequel stars Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut in the lead, along with an ensemble supporting cast.

Chandramukhi 2 opens to mixed reviews
The film has opened to mixed reviews from the audience with many calling it a poor remake of Chandramukhi. OTTplay critic Thinkal Menon wrote, "Those who loved Chandramukhi are unlikely to get entertained with the sequel. But if you are someone who does not bother relishing horror comedies made in the same fashion over the years, you might not regret watching it.

Fans call the remake a mixed bag. Check out some of the samples here.

Chandramukhi 2 runtime
Chandramukhi 2 has got U/A certificate with a runtime of 2 hours and 35 minutes. The film has been released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, and it takes on Jayam Ravi's Iraivan and Siddharth's Chithha.

480 footage gone missing?
In a recent interview, P Vasu had stated that 480 footage from the film got deleted and the files went missing, a week before the film's release (the original release date was September 15 and the film was supposed to clash with Vishal's Mark Antony). That was one of the prime reasons for the film's delay in release. Lyca Productions, which is bankrolling the film, added that the film's release was pushed to September 28 to complete the VFX work.

Cast and Crew
Vadivelu is the only actor from the 2005 film, who reprises his character Murugesan. The new star cast comprises Radikaa Sarathkumar, Lakshmi Menon, Mahima Nambiar and Rao Ramesh.

M Keeravaani scored the music for the entertainer, whose songs are choreographed by Kala, Dinesh, Baba Baskar. The film is produced by Subaskaran under Lyca Productions. R D Rajasekar cranked the camera for the film edited by Anthony.
