It looks like the release of Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut's Chandramukhi 2 is likely to be postponed from the previously announced release date of September 15. The film was supposed to clash with Vishal and SJ Suryah's time travel film, Mark Antony and release as Vinayagar Chaturthi special.

Release pushed due to this reason?
The latest we hear is that the release has been pushed as the production house is giving the final touches to the visual effects. The delay in VFX is said to be the prime reason. An official confirmation from the team is awaited about the postponement. Moreover, the trailer of Vishal's film has received a thumbs up from the audience, unlike the Chandramukhi 2 trailer, which has opened to lukewarm response. The latest move, once made official, is said to be a huge fillip to Vishal, who is badly looking at a hit.

The 'new release date', too packed!
There is also a buzz that the film is targeting at a bigger holiday release and hence, will hit screens on September 28. However, the festival weekend is packed with a number of releases, which include Jayam Ravi's Iraivan, Siddharth's Chiththa,  Harish Kalyan's Parking and Vijay Antony's Ratham.

With Chandramukhi 2, too, getting added to the list, it looks like it will be a packed week for Tamil releases. Hence, there is a possibility that some of the films might get pushed further to get better screens. Chandramukhi 2 might get pushed further.

Chandramukhi 2 to be Raghava Lawrence's first pan-India project
Chandramukhi 2 is said to be Raghava Lawrence's first pan-India release courtesy Kangana Ranaut being part of the star cast. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Kangana's presence in the film, is said to be a plus for the film, which will also release in the Hindi speaking regions. The film is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
