Veteran filmmaker P Vasu's sequel to Chandramukhi, Chandramukhi 2 is all set to hit screens on September 28. Earlier the film was supposed to release on September 15, but the release was pushed after the makers cited a delay in VFX work.
480 footage gone missing?
Now, in a recent interview, the ace filmmaker has said that 480 footage from the film got deleted and the files went missing, a week before the film's release. "I got a call from the team at 9pm in the night and I was told that 480 shots had gone missing. I was shocked and didn't know what to do. There are 150 technicians working in the film. So, we couldn't locate who had which shot. The team took 4 to 5 days to look for those deleted footage and brought it again."
Not afraid to clash with Mark Antony
He added that this was the prime reason the film's release had to be postponed and that he was not afraid of clashing with another big film. "We didn't pull out from the race deliberately." Chandramukhi 2 was supposed to clash with Vishal's Mark Antony on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi (September 15), but the team postponed the release. The makers of Chandramukhi 2, Lyca announced that they were pushing the release date due to delay in VXF work.
In the meantime, netizens don't seem to be quite convinced with P Vasu's explanation for the delay. Many have said that the reason cited is way too hard to believe.
