Chamak trailer - Paramvir Cheema takes the ‘dunki’ method in hopes to bring justice to Gippy Grewal

Paramvir Cheema is back and he will be seen in Sony LIV’s upcoming show, Chamak. The makers have released the trailer of the web series and one can see Gippy Grewal in an important role too. It marks the beginning for Paramvir’s character, Kaala’s journey on the show. Kaala is out for revenge and the backstory will be unveiled through the series.

The ‘dunki’ connection

Dunki, much like Shah Rukh Khan had explained, is a method in which an individual enters the US through an illegal way. The trailer explains that people enter Mexico and then the US and eventually Canada through this method. Kaala, on the other hand, went about 360 with this method. He took the dunki route to come back to Punjab in India, thus leaving many confused.

What is happening in the trailer?

Kaala is a mysterious being who is in Punjab jail. He calls himself an artist and talks about ‘his story.’ That is when Gippy’s character makes an entry as Tara Singh. On his entry itself, his character gets killed. This happens during his live performance. Kaala is thus on his route to find Tara’s culprits. The mystery is connected to Tara’s company, Teeja Sur.

The show also features Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa, Mohit Malik, Mukesh Chhabra, Akasa Singh and MC Square. Mika Singh, Kanwar Garewal and Afsana Khan will also be making a cameo appearance in the series. Chamak is a musical thriller consisting of 28 songs by 14 music stalwarts. The Rohit Jugraj directorial releases on Sony LIV on December 7.
