Chaava: Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna join forces for the first time; film to release on December 6, 2024

Two talented actors from Bollywood and South (respectively) are going to collaborate for the first time. Vicky Kaushal, recently seen in The Great Indian Family, will be working with Rashmika Mandanna in a Hindi film. An official announcement about their first project was made on October 3, 2023. The film has been titled Chaava and it will be directed by filmmaker Laxman Utekar.

Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna join forces for Chaava

Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films unveiled the release dates of its upcoming 10 movies. The list included a few details about Vicky and Rashmika's movie, Chaava. 

Vicky will reunite with Laxman after the success of their film, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. However, it will be Rashmika's first time working with the director as well as the actor. Chaava, as mentioned by Maddock Films, is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 6, 2024. 

Is Chaava based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj?

According to a Peepingmoon report, Chaava is based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky will be apparently seen as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

"Although the film is primarily about (Chhatrapati) Sambhaji Maharaj’s bravery, ultimate sacrifice, and strategies for winning wars, it also features an emotional love story between a husband and wife. (Chhatrapati) Sambhaji Raje and his wife jointly held the throne as the emperor. She used to handle all political decisions while he was away from the Maratha capital due to warfare," a source told the entertainment portal.

What's next for Vicky Kaushal?

On the work front, Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar's Sam Bahadur. The film is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw, former Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army. The movie is expected to release on December 1, 2023.
