Celebrity MasterChef has been officially announced and its release date will be out soon. Set to premiere on Sony Entertainment Television, the culinary show will feature a bunch of renowned celebrity contestants. The senior-most contestant of Celebrity MasterChef is veteran actress Usha Nadkarni. At the age of 78, she will be contesting in the culinary along with Nikki Tamboli, Tejasswi Prakash, Gaurav Khanna, and others. The veteran actress recently spoke about taking up the show.

In an official statement, Usha Nadkarni said she felt she had done it all at the age of 78. However, the senior actress believes life has a way of serving up new surprises. "After decades of entertaining audiences, I'm trading in my stage/screen presence for a spot in the kitchen," she said.

The Pavitra Rishta actress added that she has always loved cooking and she's got a chance to share that passion with the world. "As the oldest contestant on MasterChef India, I'm ready to show these young ones that experience, and wisdom can be just as valuable as youthful energy. Bring on the challenges, I'm ready to dish it out," she added.

Besides Usha Nadkarni, Celebrity MasterChef will feature Nikki Tamboli. The actress was earlier a part of Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi. "I've always been the rebellious one, but I believe that being true to myself is the greatest recipe for happiness," said Nikki. The actress added that she has made decisions that haven't necessarily aligned with her father's expectations.
"But signing up for Celebrity MasterChef has brought a smile to his face, and for that, I'm grateful.," she added.
