Saint Von Colucci, a Canadian actor who underwent as many as 12 operations to resemble Jimin from BTS, has passed away. The 22-year-old passed away in a South Korean hospital after being infected following many procedures. In order to pursue a career in the music industry, he relocated from Canada to South Korea in 2019.

On April 22 of this year, Saint Von allegedly underwent another procedure. He underwent surgery to have the jaw implants he had placed in November of last year removed. He did, however, get infected and needed to be intubated. The actor died shortly after the procedure in a matter of hours. He spent close to $220,000 (1.8 crores) on 12 procedures, including a lip reduction, a facelift, a brow lift, an eye lift, and a nose operation.

His publicist Eric Blake, while speaking to Daily Mail, said, "It is very tragic and very unfortunate. He was very insecure about his looks. He had a very square jawline and chin and he didn't like the shape of it because he thought it was too wide and wanted a V-shape, the shape many Asians have. He was very insecure about his face. It was very hard for him to get a job in South Korea and he felt very discriminated against by his Western looks."

The actor had the procedures, per the report, in order to portray BTS singer Jimin for a US streaming network. In June of last year, he began shooting for the K-drama Pretty Lies. He finished filming in December. He portrayed an overseas student who was one of the main protagonists. The eight-episode miniseries will debut on a significant US streaming network in October, according to his publicist.

While many BTS fans called ARMY have been sending the actor their sympathy, some, however, are not pleased with the industry's discussion of beauty standards.
