Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo trailer launch is a promotion of Tollywood’s unity

The trailer is dropped and in another two weeks, Dev’s Byomkesh will hit the theatres. The trailer of Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo – Birsa Dasgupta’s first Byomkesh Bakshi venture that also features Rukmini Miatra, Ambarish Bhattacharya, and a bevy of fine actors – promises to offer much more than just a story of detection. Mounted on a huge canvas, the trailer promises drama and adventure. In fact, a lot of drama took place right at the trailer launch event that surprised everybody.

Many discussions took place regarding the two upcoming Byomkesh projects – Dev’s venture and Srijit Mukherji’s web series Durgo Rawhoshyo for Hoichoi. Two projects were almost simultaneously created based on Saradindu Bandyopadhyay’s novel Durgo Rohoshyo. One was made as a film and another, as a web series. Hence, many people thought that there would be tough competition between the two parties. Whenever Dev gave some updates, Srijit also did the same. But the trailer launching event showed that there is unity instead of competition between the two camps.

Initially, Srijit was supposed to direct the film. But he did not want Dev as Byomkesh and opted for Anirban Bhattacharya. Hence, he withdrew from the project and made a series instead. Dev’s old friend Birsa Dasgupta came to direct the film which will be released on August 11. Dev’s series will come on Hoichoi during Durga Puja.

The film’s trailer was launched by Srijit and his company of Byomkesh actors – Anirban Bhattacharya and Sohini Sarkar. In fact, Srikant Mohta was also present on the stage, along with Srijit and Anirban. Dev, Rukmini, Ambarish, Birsa, and the film’s producer Shyam Sundar Dey of Shadow Films joined them.

Birsa said on the stage, “This is the family. If there is any doubt about unity in Tollywood, then this picture is the answer. Please remember this. Please spread the photo.”

Rukmini shared the same thought. She said, “No one thought that the team of Byomkesh O Durga Rohoshyo would be like that. In our film, there is another side of Byomkesh. He is a family man. Family is very important to him. To explain this importance, the two teams are today standing in the same family. Please remember that a family's strength lies in its unity. This stage is an example.”
