Two major players in film exhibitions, PVR and INOX, have come together to regularly distribute Bengali films alongside Hindi films under the umbrella of PVRINOX Pictures. It begins the journey with Dev’s Bomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo. They have already started presenting Bengali films since April, including Shesh Pata, Niharika, and Biye Bibhrat.

This alliance of two well-known institutions and their focus on the Bengali film industry is undeniably significant. On several occasions, complaints arise that Bengali films don’t get enough space in the time of other big releases. The insiders of the industry have felt the urgency to address these issues. The CEO of PVRINOX Pictures, Kamal Giaankanda, said, “It's a fantastic opportunity for us as we are distributing Bengali films. Bengal is one of the most dynamic film industries in India. This move will leave a lasting impact.”

On Friday evening, prominent personalities from Tollywood came together to celebrate the initiative. Dev and Birsa Dasgupta from the Byomkesh team attended the event. Besides, producers Nispal Singh Rane, Nilotpal Dutta, Firdousul Hasan, Shyam Sundar Dey, Atanu Raychaudhuri, directors Arindam Sil, Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Raj Chakraborty, Avijit Sen, Indrasis Acharya, and actors Nusrat Jahan, Yash, Ankush, Oindrila Sen, Soham Chakraborty, and other eminent figures from the Tollywood industry were present at the event. Representatives from various exhibitors in West Bengal were also present at the event. It is hoped that such initiatives will transform the fate of the Bengali film business for the better.
