Raaj Shaandilyaa will return to direct the sequel of the 2019 film.

Recently, reports emerged that Shehnaaz Gill will be making her Bollywood debut in Salman Khan’s upcoming film. Now it seems that another Bigg Boss alumni is also gearing up to make her film debut soon as well. It was reported that Tejasswi Prakash will make her Bollywood debut in Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2.
According to a report in Hindustan times, the actress had auditioned for a part in the upcoming sequel and, although the makers are yet to make an official announcement, there is a high likelihood that she will land the role. The report also stated that Tejasswi had auditioned for the part of the film’s female lead. If selected the actress would be ‘romancing’ Ayushmann on screen.
The makers’ had reportedly planned for the film to go on floors in June, but was delayed due to the onset of the monsoon season. A source told the portal that the film, backed by Ekta Kapoor, is now scheduled to go on floors in August. The upcoming film will see Raaj Shaandilyaa, who directed the original 2019 movie, return as director.
Dream Girl saw Ayushmann essay the role of a cross-gender actor. The social comedy, which went on to become one of the highest grossing films of the actor’s career, can be streamed on ZEE5. The film also featured Nushrratt Bharuccha, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, Abhishek Banerjee, Raj Bhansali and Nidhi Bisht in pivotal roles.
Tejasswi is perhaps best known for her stint in Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss 15, where she emerged as the winner of the reality show. The actress is currently starring in the TV series Naagin 6, which can be streamed on Voot.
