Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram has changed the fate of Lokesh Kanagaraj overnight. The filmmaker is currently the most-wanted director in the south. It is known that he will be helming Thalapathy 67 (tentative title) next, starring Vijay in the lead. The movie will bring together Lokesh and Vijay for the second time after Master (streaming on Amazon Prime Video).
According to reports from trusted sources, the filmmaker's plan was to commence Kaithi 2 after Thalapathy 67. The much-awaited Vikram 2 would eventually follow. Though these are more or less known to many, here comes the twist.
If rumour mills are anything to go by, Lokesh might join hands with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for a project. It is heard that the movie will be the director's immediate film after he wraps up Thalapathy 67. Earlier, there were reports of the two teaming up for the Hindi remake of Master, but the speculation died a natural death.
But it looks like the actor-filmmaker duo are now joining forces, going by a few reports. The two of them met at Chiranjeevi's residence a few weeks ago after the Tollywood megastar invited Kamal Haasan and others to celebrate the occasion of Vikram's grand success.
The million dollar question now is whether Lokesh would make his Bollywood debut before making his Telugu debut and a few other committed projects in Tamil. There has been news doing the rounds that the director was in talks with Ram Charan for a Telugu movie.
Mahesh Babu had expressed interest in meeting Lokesh through a tweet after the former went gaga over Vikram, its making, screenplay and performances. Fans of the filmmaker are eagerly awaiting an official announcement from him.
