#Kiccha46 is still shrouded in a lot of mystery, even though the team behind it has been revealed. Word on the title and genre of the film produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu, which will serve as a launchpad for director Vijay Karthikeyan, is expected on June 1, when the official promo comes out. The superstar’s fans are, no doubt, keeping their eyes peeled for when they will finally get word, but a project that has their equal and undivided attention is what will probably be his next, Billa Ranga Baashaa.
Anup Bhandari’s second collaboration with Sudeep, after Vikrant Rona, had been announced nearly four years ago, but was put off for a later stage. At the time, it was said that it would be home production for the actor, but we now hear that the plans for the film have not only changed but also become bigger and how. A source had earlier told us that Anup’s futuristic thriller, set in 2209 AD, was going to be a two-part film, given how extensive the narrative is. Sudeep, we hear, will have three distinctive looks in the film, set at different time periods. Earlier, Sudeep and Anup had reckoned that executing Billa Ranga Baashaa would require mega bucks, with at least a Rs 100 crore budget, given that it would have to be almost entirely shot on sets. This was, apparently, the reason they decided to do Vikrant Rona first, with plans to return to Billa Ranga Baashaa at a later stage.
The big buzz we heard today was that Billa Ranga Baashaa will bring a major Telugu production house to Kannada cinema. According to the latest, the film will be backed by Mythri Movie Makers, with Zee Studios likely to be a partner. Should this be true, it will be a major development in Kannada cinema.
