Buddy OTT release date: When, where to stream the Allu Sirish film

Allu Sirish was struggling to score a hit in his career and pinned a lot of hopes on his new film Buddy. The film is the official remake of the Tamil hit Teddy and was directed by Sam Anton. Buddy was in the making for the last two years and hit the screens on August 2, 2024.

It was promoted on a massive scale but sadly, it flopped in a very big way. The film did not even run for at least three days in the Telugu states and was panned badly. Now, the latest update is that Netflix has bagged the digital rights to the film and will make it available for streaming on August 30, 2024.

The news in the film circles is that Netflix has paid the makers a solid amount and that is the reason, the comedy caper is all set to stream within just three weeks of its release. Allu Sirish played the main lead in this film and he was seen as a pilot.

His role was appreciated and Sirish gave a good performance but all this did not prevent the film from sinking at the box office. Buddy was produced by KE Gnanavelraja and Aadhana Gnanavelraja under the Studio Green Films banner.

The story was altered a bit for the Telugu version but all this went against the film. Buddy was slammed by several critics as a crazy directionless comedy drama. Now that the film is all set to stream on Netflix, we need to see if the film will generate any reaction or not in its OTT outing.

For Allu Sirish, Buddy is a film that he needs to forget right away from the inception itself, as many were not happy with Sirish being a part of this film.
