Son of star television host Suma and popular character actor Rajeev Kanakala, Roshan Kanakala, is debuting as a lead actor with Bubblegum. The romance drama is directed by Ravikanth Perepu, who’d helmed Kshanam and Krishna and his Leela earlier. Maanasa Choudhary, Harsha Chemudu, Kiran G play other key roles in the film produced by Maheshwari Movies and People Media Factory.
The film’s first poster was unveiled by SS Rajamouli recently. The teaser of the film was launched today in the presence of Hi Nanna star Nani. The glimpse takes off with a voiceover where a man equates love to a bubblegum - how it’s sweet to begin with but sticks to your boot or seat in theatres later. Roshan, who plays Aditya, is introduced as a DJ and is attracted to a girl Jahnvi.
It doesn’t take much time for Aditya and Jahnvi to lose themselves to one another and be madly in love. Just when their relationship appears steady, Aditya lands in trouble (with a car) and is desperate to win back the respect of his lady love. The film ends with Roshan’s stern warning to a goon. The lively ambience, stylish cinematography, the leads’ chemistry are an absolute delight.
Ananya Akula, Harshvardhan, Anu Hasan, Jairam Eashwar, Bindu Chandramouli play other significant characters in the romance drama. Ravikanth Perepu, Vishnu Kondur, and Seri-Ganni have jointly written the film while Sricharan Pakala is the composer. Suresh Ragutu is the cinematographer and Nishad Yusuf is the editor.

Maanasa Choudhary was part of a web project titled Emoji for aha and also starred in a music video titled Lapadva. Ravikanth Perepu, the film’s director, was also the editor of the last week’s release Month of Madhu.
