Roshan Kanakala, the only son of the popular celeb couple — anchor Suma and actor Rajeev Kanakala — makes his acting debut with a film titled Bubblegum. Ravikanth Perepu, who recently edited Month of Madhu and directed credible films like Kshanam and Krishna and his Leela, helms the romance drama. People Media Factory and Maheshwari Movies are jointly producing the film.
After unveiling the teaser and the first single, Habibi Jilebi, another new song from Bubblegum, Izzat, was released today. Mega 156 star Chiranjeevi launched the rap number, sung and lyricized by MC Hari (alongside Roshan) and composed by Sricharan Pakala. Izzat is a party number in the film where Roshan is cast as a DJ. The song hints at the rebellion in his character and is a plea for self-respect.
‘Izzat..Ichi Puchukunte Manchidhi..Izzat..Iyyakunte Lolli Tappadhi..Izzat..Katthi Thone Karra Thone Jaragadhi..,’ the opening lines of the number showcase the protagonist’s understanding of respect and why he’ll not compromise about it. One of the main attractions in the number (besides its catchy hook and the lyrics) is Roshan Kanakala himself, who’s at ease and confident with his dance moves, singing.
While introducing the character to audiences, Izzat offers a glimpse of the film’s vibrant tone, and the authenticity in the ambience comes through effectively. Maanasa Choudhary plays the female lead in the film, which also features Harsha Chemudu, Kiran Macha, Anannyaa Akulaa, Harshvardhan, Anu Hasan, Chaitu Jonnalagadda and Bindu Chandramouli in key roles.
Bubblegum will release in theatres on December 29, the final weekend of this year, just after two biggies: Salaar and Dunki. Ravikanth Perepu, Vishnu Kondur and Seri-Ganni have co-written the film, which has cinematography by Suresh Ragutu. Vithal Kosanam is the art director. Divya Vijay is the creative producer and Madhulika Sanchana Lanka is the executive producer.
