BTS' V aka Kim Taehyung will be a part of Squid Game 3? Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joon respond

Fans of BTS' V aka Kim Taehyung have been manifesting for the idol to be a part of Squid Game ever since he appeared in the series outfit during a concert back in 2021. They hoped for a cameo appearance by Taehyung in season 2 but it did not happen. Now, again his name has also been roped into speculations for Squid Game season 3. In a new interview, Lee Jung-jae and Wi Ha-joon addressed the speculations about Taehyung being a part of Squid Game season 3.

BTS' V aka Kim Taehyung in Squid Game 3?

Following rumors of Leonardo DiCaprio joining the cast of Squid Game 3, fans speculated that Kim Taehyung might also be a part of the dystopian universe as they discovered several coincidences and recent comments from the cast. With Season 3 already scheduled for June 2025, anticipation is building, and BTS ARMYs are eager to see if Taehyung will join the iconic series.

In a recent interview with BuzzFeed UK, Squid Game stars Lee Jung-jae and Wi Ha-joon were directly asked about the possibility of V joining the cast. Giving a smile, Jung-jae said, “I can’t say anything about that," while Ha-joon teased with “No comment" answer.

Fans' reactions

As soon as the interview clip went viral, fans could not keep calm as socia media flooded with comments.

A fan shared, “V in Squid Game is the crossover I didn’t know I needed!" Another fan said, "He is definitely in season 03." A third fan wrote, "It's happening." "Actor kim taehyung will return," read another comment. However, some fans are also in disbelief as they thought the reactions of Jung-jae and Ha-joon were kinda suspicious and Taehyung might not be a part of Squid Game 3. Only time will tell! 

Squid Game season 3 release date leaked by Netflix Korea accidentally

Netflix Korea shared a teaser of Squid Game Season 3 on their YouTube channel. Sharing the teaser, they accidentally announced the release date of the show, and it said it is June 27. The streaming giant has since taken down the video, but that doesn't mean eagle-eyed netizens haven't taken screenshots of it.

OTTplay review of Squid Game 2 reads, "Hwang Dong-hyuk still has the magic in him, and you see the sparks fly multiple times throughout, but they are fading because of the fan service expectations from the show. Squid Game needs its unapologetic, non-conforming soul back, where stories are being told rather than making shock-value sequences."
